\u00deingvellir<\/a>, or Thingvellir with English letters (more on that later). Here was the site of the Al\u00feing<\/a>, the annual parliament of Iceland from the year 930 until the last session held at \u00deingvellir in 1798. \u00deingvellir is now a national park.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I turned off the highway to take the above pictures only to find this lovely house. Judging by the antique car in the drive, the owner has impeccable taste.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
